Divisions

Divisions explore the creation of a new form of male bodily representation. This is explored through a series of visibly manipulated portraits, constructed out of numerous macro photographs, resulting in bodies that become a fusion of statuesque presences and grotesque parodies.

Through the use of my collage technique, I focus on body parts in differing scale and proportions as a metaphor for the very act of looking and seeing itself. This reframes the traditional mode of representation and thereby raises questions about the proximity of the body and what is considered acceptable modes of representation.
